Mission and programs · 2024

Mission

Family Promise of the Great Rivers is a family homeless shelter offering food, clothing, life skills, and a community of people who care. Beyond our shelter, we also provide eviction prevention, shelter diversion, and long-term case management support. Our mission is to help homeless and low-income families achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response.

  • Our largest program is our prevention and diversion programs, which work to stabilize current housing if deemed safe and appropriate. If the current housing is not safe and appropriate, we work to relocate the family. Our goal is to help the family secure stable, safe housing in order to avoid the shelter system or the experience of unsheltered living. In 2024, we served 205 unique individuals,,123 children, and 63 families.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
