Mission

WE INSPIRE HOPE IN WOMEN AND SENIORS FOR A JOYFUL AND FULFILLING FUTURE. WE DO THIS BY EMPOWERING WOMEN TO PURSUE LIVING-WAGE JOBS IN THE CONSTRUCTION TRADES VIA OUR HANDS-ON TRAINING PROGRAM, AND BY PROVIDING REPAIRS AND RENOVATIONS THAT ENABLE OLDER ADULTS TO STAY IN THEIR HOMES AS THEY AGE. OUR TRAINING PROGRAM SERVES UNEMPLOYED AND UNDEREMPLOYED WOMEN, HELPING THEM GAIN THE SKILLS THEY NEED TO WORK IN THE CONSTRUCTION TRADES, AND CONNECTING THEM TO EMPLOYERS. THIS WORK BREAKS DOWN A SIGNIFICANT GENDER BARRIER IN THE INDUSTRY WHILE HELPING WOMEN BUILD CONFIDENCE, AND PURSUE CAREERS THAT CAN ALLOW THEM TO SUPPORT THEMSELVES AND THEIR FAMILIES. OUR CONSTRUCTION PROGRAM CARRIES OUT REPAIRS, RENOVATIONS, REMODELS, MODIFICATIONS AND OTHER PROJECTS WITH A PRIMARY FOCUS ON OLDER ADULTS AND ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES WHO WISH TO AGE IN PLACE. IN ADDITION, THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES A VALUABLE ON-THE-JOB LEARNING EXPERIENCE TO OUR TRAINEES, WHO GAIN HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE ALONGSIDE OUR CREW.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
