Mission
We provide the tools, resources and commonwealth of knowledge to help people buildsustainable news organizations that reflect and serve their communities. We supportvoices historically excluded from media and media ownership.

Tiny News Collectives first cohort members are publishing through their sites, newsletters or both. Members of the second cohort are at different stages of pre-launch and publishing. Weve incorporated monthly workshops and are experimenting with twice monthly blocks of time set aside for drop-in office hours. We are designing and scoping consulting opportunities to support founders in audience development and fundraising campaigns. In June 2022 we launched a fiscal-sponsorship-only program pilot. Through word-of-mouth, referrals and affiliate partnerships, we currently are working with five fiscal sponsorship-only clients. Additionally, TNC is serving as the charitable fiscal sponsor for the annual Sigma Awards, a competition to celebrate the best data journalism from around the world.
