Mission and programs · 2025

Primary exempt purpose

The DaVinci Academy of Arts and Science PTO is a 501c3 nonprofit organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. It was formed to support educational opportunities at DaVinci Academy by facilitating volunteer efforts and fundraising for essential projects and materials. The organizations main goal is to enhance student welfare and provide teacher-focused enrichment by fostering open communication and community involvement. By providing a platform for parents and staff to be directly involved in issues affecting the school the PTO acts as an advisory body and sponsors educational family-friendly and community-building programs. Its mission is defined by the motto: Together we teach we learn we grow.

  • Community Building Support - this takes the form of an all-school carnival impacting thousands of students family members and staff; a middle school party attended by 120 students; career learning fairs for 1000 students to connect what they are learning with jobs that family members in their community have; and 3 additional events impacting 100 - 300 students each.

    Expenses $7,420

  • Music Education Support - 1 euphonium 1 tuba and 11 guitars were purchased by the school via grants from the PTO. The brass instruments will help round out the student orchestras and will be played by students next year both for daily practice and at their concerts. The 11 guitars will enable 22 students to participate in guitar classes next year and additional students in successive years.

    Grants $4,994

  • Science Education saw just over $5300 of support from the PTO in the form of school grants. These grants allowed over 200 middle school students to go on science-themed field trips supported 200 elementary students zoological project based learnings and enabled a DaVinci-hosted STEAM family night using kits from the Bell Museum in Minneapolis.
