Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us.

The filer's explanations (Part III)

PART I, LINE 1A
FITNESS FACILITY BENEFIT: ACCORDING TO THE ECONOMIC BENEFITS OF REGULAR EXERCISE, RESEARCHERS HAVE FOUND THAT THE RETURN ON INVESTMENT AMONG COMPANIES THAT OFFER WELLNESS BENEFITS RANGES FROM $1.49 TO $13 FOR EVERY DOLLAR INVESTED. WELLNESS-ORIENTED SERVICES IN BOTH A FITNESS FACILITY AND THE WORKPLACE PROGRAMS WE OFFER THROUGH WELLNESS ARE PROVEN TO HELP ADDRESS OUR HEALTH GOALS, REDUCE THE IMPACT OF OBESITY RATES, AND IMPROVE BUSINESS PROFITABILITY. WOOD COUNTY HOSPITAL INVESTS IN EMPLOYEE HEALTH BY PAYING A FIXED AMOUNT OF $62.50 TO ALL EMPLOYEES, INCLUDING EXECUTIVES, WHO JOIN A FITNESS FACILITY WHERE THEY CAN WORK OUT. WOOD COUNTY HOSPITAL, LIKE OTHER EMPLOYERS, ARE AWARE THAT A FITNESS BENEFIT REDUCES EMPLOYEE HEALTH CARE EXPENSES, LOWERS RATES OF ABSENTEEISM, REDUCES DISABILITY AND WORKERS' COMPENSATION CLAIMS AND HELPS TO ATTRACT AND RETAIN TALENTED EMPLOYEES. STUDIES SHOW THAT EMPLOYEES WHO EXERCISE AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK, REGARDLESS OF THEIR WEIGHT, HAVE LOWER HEALTH CARE COSTS THAN THEIR SEDENTARY CO-WORKERS. ONE STUDY, IN FACT, SHOWED THAT ACTIVE EMPLOYEES TAKE 27 PERCENT FEWER SICK DAYS AND REPORT 14 TO 25 PERCENT FEWER DISABILITY DAYS THAN INACTIVE EMPLOYEES. WHILE ONLY 16% OF THE AMERICAN POPULATION CURRENTLY BELONGS TO A HEALTH CLUB, MEMBERSHIP HAS INCREASED MORE THAN 10% OVER THE PAST THREE YEARS TO OVER 50.2 MILLION MEMBERS, DESPITE THE POOR ECONOMY. WITH AN IMPROVED ECONOMIC OUTLOOK, CLUBS ACROSS THE COUNTRY ARE GEARING UP FOR MORE DEMAND THAN THEY'VE SEEN IN YEARS. THESE HEALTH CLUB DUES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN EMPLOYEES' TAXABLE COMPENSATION.

Part I's answers as filed. A line not listed was left unanswered; on lines 1a and 3 that means the box was not checked.
