As an example of an ongoing community relationship, AILA NorCal attorneys continued to work with the BAR Association of San Francisco to staff master calendar hearings as pro bono counsel of the day, appearing with respondents who have not yet secured counsel to request continuances, file changes of address, and to make referrals to continuing counsel.

We are a certified continuing legal education (CLE) provider and our members are able to earn CLE credits at our educational events.Annualy, the AILA Norcal offers a mini conference allowing members to obtain three hours of hard to get continuing legal education.AILA NorCal also host several social events throughout the year that usually involve interactions with representatives of govermental agencies. The organization presented an agency dinner in the fall with USCIS, CBP, and Asylum Officers, which provided opportunities to meet immigration judges and court staff.
