Mission

Brem Foundation to Defeat Breast Cancer champions early detection of breast cancer to improve health outcomes for all through innovation, education, equitable access, and targeted advocacy.

  • EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH PROGRAMS PROVIDE BREAST HEALTH EDUCATION AND TEACH THE VALUE OF EARLY DETECTION OF BREAST CANCER. THE CORE CURRICULUM IS CENTERED ON RISK BASED-SCREENING, WITH A FOCUS ON INDIVIDUAL RISK FACTORS, CORRELATED SCREENING OPTIONS, AND SELF-ADVOCACY. BREMS EDUCATION PROGRAMS EMPHASIZE A PERSONALIZED APPROACH BECAUSE WHEN IT COMES TO BREAST SCREENING THERE IS NO ONE-SIZE-FITS-ALL. BREMS PROGRAMS ARE PACKED WITH ESSENTIAL BREAST HEALTH CONTENT WHICH EMPOWER WOMEN TO GET THE CARE THEY NEED. BREM REACHES PEOPLE FROM ALL SOCIO-ECONOMIC BACKGROUNDS BY OFFERING ITS EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS THROUGH MANY DIFFERENT PARTNERS INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, COMMUNITY GROUPS, RELIGIOUS INSTITUTIONS, AND CORPORATIONS. BREM OFFERS IN PERSON, LIVE WEBINAR, AND DIGITAL EDUCATION.

    Expenses $459,558

  • B-FUND - BREM'S B-FUND PAYS FOR BREAST SCREENING AND DIAGNOSTIC TESTS FOR PATIENTS WHO ARE MEDICALLY UNDERSERVED. THE BREM FOUNDATION PARTNERS WITH NONPROFITS AND PROVIDERS TO IDENTIFY RECIPIENTS FOR B-FUND SUPPORT IN LOW-INCOME COMMUNITIES WHO CAN NOT AFFORD CARE. WITH BREM FUNDING, PROVIDERS PERFORM B-FUND DIAGNOSTIC TESTS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AFTER AN ABNORMAL SCREENING. THIS PROGRAM ENSURES THAT A PATIENT'S ABILITY TO PAY DOES NOT DETERMINE WHETHER SHE CAN GET A TIMELY BREAST CANCER DIAGNOSIS.

    Expenses $170,933 · Grants $160,000

  • ADVOCATES TO OPEN ACCESS TO BREAST SCREENINGS AND DIAGNOSTICS FOR ALL REGARDLESS OF SOCIOECONOMIC BACKGROUND. BREM COLLABORATES WITH NON-PROFIT, CORPORATE, AND COMMUNITY PARTNERS INVOLVED IN MISSION-ALIGNED EFFORTS AND SUPPORTS LEGISLATION IMPACTING WOMENS HEALTH AND CANCER REDUCTION EFFORTS. BREM FIGHTS FOR INCREASED ACCESS TO SCREENING ACROSS THE COUNTRY; TO ELIMINATE BURDENSOME OUT-OF-POCKET COSTS FOR DIAGNOSTIC BREAST IMAGING; AND TO ENSURE THAT WOMEN 40 AND OVER HAVE ACCESS TO FREE MAMMOGRAPHY SERVICES THAT COULD SAVE THEIR LIVES. WE USE OUR VOICE IN THE MEDIA TO SERVE AS A THOUGHT LEADER ON THE BENEFITS OF EARLY BREAST CANCER DETECTION AND WORK STRATEGICALLY IN COALITION WITH LIKE-MINDED ORGANIZATIONS TO ACHIEVE OUR VISION OF A WORLD WHERE WOMEN ARE SCREENED PROPERLY, ON TIME EVERY TIME.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us.
