Activities or mission (Part I)

  • Baseball & Softball Training - In 2024, BUBA operated 294 baseball & softball training sessionsfor over 592 hours forBaltimore City & other area youth (excl. #2 & #3 below). The programs of hitting, pitching catching & fielding included boys & girls and were conducted for indi- viduals, in drop-in sessions, private lessons, new athlete orientation skills sessions, camps & for small & large groups, in the categories 12U, 12,14U, high school and college athletes. There were 784 parti- cipants, however, the count is understated because of the lack of check-inresources and planning to discontinue the software 12/31/24. Youth from Baltimore City public schools attended sessions w/o charge while ex-city youth are charged per a fee schedule.

    Expenses $120,594 · Revenue $124,921

  • Use of the Facility by Local Teams - In 2024, BUBA provided use of its facility to other youth baseball & softball organizations (excl #2 below) for a total of 182 session and 547 hours. The organizations represented youth from all age categories 12U, 12,14U, HS & college. and primarily use the BUBA Facility during the winter months when outdoor sports are not available. The use of BUBAs Facility allows organizations to continue to support youth sports participation during a time leagues are not in play, giving participants a chance to work on their skills, without distraction. Organizations are charged according to an hourly fee schedule.

    Expenses $107,399 · Revenue $125,510

  • Pro-bono Facility Use by City Baseball & Softball Teams- BUBA provides its facility pro-bono to various Baltimore City youth organizations, ensuring equitable access to baseball and softball programs that would otherwise be unaffordable for many teams. Organizations such as South Baltimore Little League, James Mosher Baseball, Carroll Park Athletics Northwood Little League, Visions Select, RBI League & EDRICO benefited from free facility hours throughout the year. This initiative supports the growth & sustainability of these programs and promotes the development of young athletes from underserved communities. In 2024, BUBA provided 49 sessions for 98 hours of pro-bono facility access to youth organizations, helping them keep youth engaged in sports.

    Expenses $19,946 · Revenue $17,805

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
