Mission and programs · 2025
Mission
The mission of the Good Samaritan Center is to provide a safe, Christ- Centered environment that gives our patients quality, coordinated and affordable healthcare.
Activities or mission (Part I)
To provide a safe Christcentered environment that gives our patients quality coordinated and affordable healthcare
-
The Center provides medical appointments, specialist referrals, public health screenings, home visits, prescription assistance, and social work services for over 1,000 unduplicated individuals each year who are uninsured and live below 250% of the federal poverty level. Patients must live in Blanco, Gillespie, Kimble, or Mason Counties or the towns of Comfort or Brady, Texas. Partnerships include our local hospital/health system, local specialists, Methodist Healthcare Ministries, Prevent Blindness Texas, and the Central Texas Food Bank.
Expenses $1,250,558 · Revenue $113,427
-
The Center provides basic dental care, including fillings, extractions and cleanings for 550 unduplicated low-income, uninsured individuals. We employ a part-time dentist three days a week, and then enjoy the volunteer services of four local dentists and two local hygienists on the fourth day.
Expenses $412,157 · Revenue $41,334
-
The Center offers patients the opportunity to meet with a bilingual LPC. Patients often have circumstances in their lives when they need to meet with a counselor and work through the challenges they have faced, are facing, or a combination of both. In a time when mental health is a critical issue in our society, this program offers patients a pathway to get help.
Expenses $166,657

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
