Mission and programs · 2023
Primary exempt purpose
The mission of Variety - the Children's Charity of the National Capital Region (Variety DC) is to improve the quality of life for children living in Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C. who face serious mobility disabilities. We provide children with life-changing medical mobility equipment, specially-adapted vehicles, and access to therapeutic extracurricular activities not covered by insurance. Since the start of the pandemic, Variety DC has also provided emergency grants to families who lost income and are caring for children with disabilities.

Variety - the Children's Charity of the National Capital Region (Variety DC) provided a total of $1,200 in Emergency Grants, $10,750 in Compassion Fund and $31,186 in adaptive equipment and $5,000 access to adaptive services to children with disabilities in DC, MD and VA.
