Mission
Our mission is to build majority support for public policies that create prosperity and opportunity for all North Carolinians. Through education and civic engagement, we seek a fair and just society where everyone can shape our collective future.
Activities or mission (Part I)
Advocate for public policies that bring prosperity and opportunity to all North Carolinians.
-
Issue Advocacy: MRNC communicated with over 1 million North Carolinians to promote awareness around key public policy issues. These issue advocacy campaigns informed North Carolinians across the state about state government.
Expenses $4,155,249
-
Research and Surveys: MRNC conducted our annual statewide survey to look at how North Carolinians were perceiving various public policy issues. From those findings, 12 focus groups were held at various intervals throughout the year to dig deeper and further refine MRNC's understanding of North Carolinians.
Expenses $718,903
-
Support to Ally Organizations: MRNC continued to make general support grants to ally organizations. In 2024, MRNC made four grants to four organizations that aligned with our organization's mission.
Expenses $115,000 · Grants $115,000
-
Events: MRNC held four annual events including our two-day summit that brought together leaders from across the state in public affairs, business, and community efforts. Additionally, MRNC hosted two virtual events that gave attendees an opportunity to learn more about North Carolina's civic landscape.
Expenses $98,744
-
Public Policy Development: MRNC launched its inaugural policy vision that lays out a framework for how leaders across North Carolina can work to build prosperity and opportunity for all North Carolinians. This framework has been shared in print and electronically to hundreds of state leaders.
Expenses $32,273
-
Newsletter: MRNC continued to use its newsletter, sending 36 timely and insightful pieces to educate and inform our audience of happenings, insights, and other relevant updates about the group's work. Additionally, this served as a way to distribute our public policy vision for the state.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
