Mission and programs · 2023
Mission
To provide free health-sustaining prescription medications to lower-income, uninsured Texans.
-
The St. Vincent de Paul Pharmacy, which opened in 2018, is the first free-standing pharmacy in the state of Texas that provides lifesaving medications to the uninsured free of charge. Many residents of Texas cannot afford the necessary prescription medications to maintain their chronic, treatable conditions like diabetes, asthma and heart disease. The inability to sustain health affects the ability to maintain steady employment, care for family and escape poverty. It also contributes to increased costs across the health care system as unreimbursed emergency services become primary health care for those who cannot afford medication. We exist to serve those who cannot afford to sustain their health. The Pharmacy provided 102,896 30-day equivalent prescriptions to 4,008 unique patients free of charge with a total value of $30,515,305 (Average Wholesale Pricing valuation method).
Expenses $31,367,287 · Grants $30,567,081 · Revenue $40,460

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us.
