Activities or mission (Part I)

The National Black Empowerment Councils (NBEC) mission is to empower leaders to work together strategically to close the systemic wealth, influence, and achievement gaps between African Americans and more structurally advantaged groups.

  • Our coalition efforts are centered on establishing relationships and fostering collaboration between emerging leaders across communities. Bridging divides promotes mutual understanding, collective progress, and reinvigorates historical alliances. Through strategic partnerships, advocacy efforts, and community engagement initiatives, we strive to create spaces where indiviuals and organizations can come together to address shared challenges, pursue common goals and contribute to the civil society.

    Expenses $572,962 · Grants $202,500

  • Our aim at NBEC is to increase African American financial literacy, empower entreprepreneurs, and elevate Black leaders into corporte goverance. Additionally, we work with industries, institutions, and strategic partners who are committed to equity for African Americans

    Expenses $321,139

  • Continually improving primary, secondary, and higher education in this country is a top priority of the National Black Empowerment Council. Ensuring that Black children and families have a full complement of schooling options available to them as well is important. Toward both these ends, we create programs, work with partners, and engage our network to help empower our youth and African American serving institutions

    Expenses $231,074

  • In addition to the three programs descibed above the organizations also continued service through additional programing such as UJA, Arts as an Asset, Food Inequity, Small Business Program, Digital Divide, Drone cadets, Corporate Board Program, and Financial Literacy Programs.

    Expenses $423,291

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us.
