Mission and programs · 2023
Mission
EPP's mission is to leverage climate and finance solutions to promote peace in the world's most fragile regions.
Activities or mission (Part I)
EPP works to promote climate and finance solutions as a means to support peace in regions affected by conflict. Specifically, our two areas of work are focused on: Innovative Finance and Research and Advocacy.
-
Innovative Finance/Peace Renewable Energy Credit (P-REC): EPP has developed the P-REC to connect sustainability-driven corporate renewable energy investment with new renewable energy projects in fragile, energy poor countries, as a means to support new financing and project development.
Expenses $165,079 · Revenue $25,000
-
Research and advocacy/Powering Peace: EPP works to demonstrate and highlight the potential for renewable energy to serve as a climate-sensitive tool for peacebuilding through the Powering Peace Initiative, which focuses on the transformation of energy systems in United Nations peacekeeping operations.
Expenses $89,031 · Grants $42,300
-
Peace Impacts of Renewable Energy: This program is focused on gathering evidence in support of our thesis by quantifying the social and peace impacts of P- REC supported renewable energy projects, using an impact measurement framework developed by EPP.
Expenses $25,206

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
