FORM 990, PART III, LINE 1 - ORGANIZATION MISSIONThe Jack Reid Foundation (JRF) is a public charity dedicated to preventing bullying in schools through advocacy, education, and legislative reform. It was founded in April 2023, a year after the tragic loss of Jack Reid, a kind, compassionate, and dedicated seventeen-year-old high-school junior, whose life was cut short after ongoing bullying and cruel behavior by his classmates at school. We are committed to ensuring that no other child endures the cruelty and anguish that Jack experienced. We believe the only way to impact bullying is to positively change schools culture and community environment. Our approach focuses on employing evidence-based, anti-bullying strategies and initiatives to educate schools, parents, and communities about more effective bullying-prevention policies and practices. By addressing the systemic issues that allow bullying to persist, we aim to create a safe environment so that no other child faces the same fat
-
The Foundations activities in 2024 focused on raising awareness about bullying. We continued to engage with researchers and academics, social emotional learning (SEL) providers, and school leaders to explore the latest research and best practices in the anti-bullying space. These conversations informed our programmatic strategy. We also advocated for legislation to require non-public schools to have a written anti-bullying policy.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
