Mission

The YMCA mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. This mission is to advance the cause of strengthening the community though youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

Activities or mission (Part I)

The YMCA mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. This mission is to advance the cause of strengthening the community though youth development, healthy living and social responsibility

  • Healthy Living - The YMCA is a leading voice on health and well-being. We bring families closer together, encourage good health and foster connections through fitness, sports, fund and shared interests. As a result, people in our community are receiving support, guidance and resources they need to achieve greater health in spirit, mind, and body. This is particularly important as the nation struggles with an obesity crisis, family struggle with work/life balance and individuals search for personal fulfillment.

    Expenses $1,694,649 · Revenue $1,681,466

  • Youth Development - Our YMCA is committed to nurturing the potential of every child and teen. We believe that all kids deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve. That is why we help young people cultivate the values, skills, and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, better health and educational achievement. Our YMCA programs, such as summer camp; sports and recreation; and child watch, offer a range of experiences that enrich cognitive, social, physical, and emotional growth.

    Expenses $647,049 · Revenue $612,548

  • Social Responsibility - Our YMCA believes in giving back and supporting our neighbors. We have been listening and responding to our community's most critical needs. YMCA programs, such as volunteer Siouxland are how we deliver training, resources and support that empowers our neighbors to effect change, bridge gaps and overcome obstacles. We engage YMCA members, participants and volunteers in activities that strengthen our community and pave the way for future generations to thrive.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
