Mission and programs · 2024

Mission

The IRA shifts resources and power to people who use drugs. We reduce both the individual and structural harms caused by racialized drug policy through direct action and advocacy.

  • This year, the Indiana Recovery Alliance became a Recovery Community Organization to better connect with the local community. As an organization, we acquired a grant that allowed our staff to administer HIV and HEP-C tests to assist with treating and preventing diseases. Additionally, our Naloxone saturation efforts resulted in a significant drop in overdose deaths in 2024. These achievements have strengthened the foundation of our programs, such as our Syringe Service Program and Street Outreach Program, which demonstrate harm reduction principles and equip drug users and unhoused individuals with survival supplies.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
