Activities or mission (Part I)

Golden Bridges School is a teacher-run school, created by a group of Waldorf-trained teachers with experience both in early childhood and elementary education.

  • Golden Bridges and Dandelion Preschool seek to provide affordable, developmentally appropriate education, presented by Waldorf-trained teachers, to San Francisco's southern neighborhoods. We offer an education based on the teachings of Rudolf Steiner that nourishes children's capacities physically, emotionally, and intellectually while cultivating skills of head, heart and hands. In building and sustaining bridges between the school, families and the local and globl communities, we are preparing children to be productive global citizens and stewards of the Earth. During this past school year, we had 28 preschoolers, 29 kindergartners, 12 first-grade students, 13 second-grade students, 12 third-grade students, 8 fourth-grade students, 12 fifth-grade students, 7 sixth-grade students, 12 seventh-grade students, and 5 eighth-grade students.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
