The goal of the GBP510 Phase III clinical trial is to show that the immune response generated by two doses of GBP510, administered 4 weeks apart in seronegative adults aged 18 and older, is superior or non-inferior to the response produced by two doses of ChAdOx1-S (AstraZeneca). Throughout 2023, the final participant visits were completed at all 22 study sites across five countries: Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, New Zealand, and Ukraine. Data cleaning was also finalized in preparation for the CSR. At the same time, the booster extension (Stage II) study progressed alongside the Phase III trial, with all seven visits successfully completed at two sites in Thailand. In May 2023, SK bioscience received Marketing Authorization of COVID-19 Vaccine from UK MHRA. https://www.skbioscience.com/en/news/news_01_01?mode=view&id=212& (30May2023)

VAT0008 is a pivotal multi-country phase 3, multi-stage, modified double-blind and multi-arm study where efficacy, safety and immunogenicity of two SARS-CoV-2 adjuvanted recombinant protein vaccines (monovalent and bivalent) were tested as primary series and monovalent booster dose as an extension. IVI led the effort in Nepal to conduct the clinical trial including conducting the local DSMB meeting. The primary series study was initiated in July 2021. The first subject for the primary series was enrolled in September 2021. The crossover/booster phase started in January 2023. The last subject vaccination for the crossover/booster phase was completed in November 2023. Investigators Meeting was conducted in February 2023 for the successful conduction of the primary series study. The 11th DSMB meeting was held on September 2023, and no safety concern was raised. IVI team conducted a Quality Control visit in Q3 2023.

In 2023, the GCCDP team performed additional testing of a subgroup in Phase II samples at Nexelis laboratory in Canada after discussion with CEPI. Nexelis was chosen as the new central laboratory for all immunogenicity testing, following the decision to shift primary laboratory assay to micro-PRNT. The 3rd DSMB meeting was held in May 2023 upon completion all visits from Phase II, and DSMB endorsed the continuation of the studies as planned. Based on additional testing results of days 28 and 56 of Phase II subgroup samples, data from non-human primate (NHP) passive transfer study and safety data, a final decision on the optimal dose was made to 40 ug. A consortium consensus justification memo for final dose selection completed. Protocol Amendment V 5.0 containing this new information was approved by local Ethical Committees and NRAs. In Sep 2023, the proposal for expanding the program was submitted to CEPI to conduct the studies to assess the long-term safety, durability of protection and a measurement of vaccine effectiveness in Chikungunya virus endemic countries for the candidate CHIKV vaccine.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us.
