The Thomas Memorial Hospital Auxiliary's mission is the generation of funds for the support of various hospital departments and specially designated projects.
-
The auxiliary has a scholarship fund for students that have chosen the healthcare field for their profession. The auxiliary makes contributions to the fund, managed by the Thomas Memorial Foundation. Numerous nursing students apply for a grant with the Thomas Memorial hospital Foundation based on the amount of financial need for a semester of schooling. The applications for a grant are screened by the Thomas Memprial hospital Foundation staff and the hospital nursing director. The joint team will select a student from the list of students that qualify. This student is then recommended to the auxiliary for grant sponsorship. The auxiliary sponsors only one student per year. Based on the student's need for the semester the auxiliary grants will vary and the Foundation will fulfill the remaining amount requested. For a nursing student to accept the grant that is offered by this program, they must agree to serve two years of healthcare employment at the Thomas Memorial hospital.
