Mission and programs · 2022
Mission
GSN seeks to fulfill our mission to co-create healthy school ecosystems by partnering with educators, students, families and communities to elevate the education experience. GSN specifically targets its education supports and turnaround efforts in schools where it can focus on changing the trajectory for traditionally marginalized and underserved students. GSN accomplishes this through providing embedded coaching and technical assistance accompanied by curriculum and resources based on its award-winning school model as well as efforts that build collective action in neglected educational spaces.
-
During the 2022-2023 fiscal year, GSN served thousands of teachers and students in dozens of districts through programs such as Turnaround Leadership, Social & Emotional Learning, College & Career Readiness, Leadership Coaching, Teacher Retention, Expelled & At-Risk Student Services, and more. State-wide impact has been driven by GSNs partnership with Boards of Collaborative Educational Services (BOCES) districts across the state of Colorado and other partners in launching the Colorado Rural Education Collaborative (CREC) in 2015. The CREC grew to support 79 member districts and reached more than $30 million in funding (since inception), to address the most pressing problems of practice in rural districts and communities, improving accessibility to resources and offering opportunities to work collaboratively. Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
