Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us.

- PART I, LINE 4B
- THE ORGANIZATION MAINTAINS A SUPPLEMENTAL PLAN (THE "SERP") THAT PROVIDES A LUMP SUM BENEFIT, GENERALLY AT RETIREMENT FOLLOWING 30 YEARS OF SERVICE, EQUAL TO AN ANNUITY PAYING THE PARTICIPANT 60% OF THE PARTICIPANT'S FINAL COMPENSATION FROM THE ORGANIZATION. THE BENEFIT IS PRORATED IN THE CASE OF EMPLOYEES WITH LESS THAN 30 YEARS OF SERVICE. THE TOTAL BENEFIT IS REDUCED BY ALL OTHER AHRC NYC RETIREMENT INCOME SOURCES (BOTH EMPLOYER FUNDED AND EMPLOYEE FUNDED, INCLUDING THE ORGANIZATION'S RETIREMENT PLAN). THE 457(B) COMPONENT OF THE PLAN VESTS IMMEDIATELY. THE 457(F) COMPONENT OF THE PLAN IS FULLY VESTED AT THE EARLIEST OF AGE 65, DEATH, DISABILITY OR INVOLUNTARY TERMINATION OF EMPLOYMENT. BENEFIT DISTRIBUTIONS IN CERTAIN YEARS MAY APPEAR HIGH DUE TO THE FACT THAT BENEFITS ACCRUE OVER VERY LONG PERIODS OF TIME BUT ARE THEN DISTRIBUTED IN THEIR ENTIRETY IN A LUMP SUM AT RETIREMENT AGE. ESSENTIALLY, THE LUMP SUM REPRESENTS AN AMOUNT THAT IS EQUIVALENT TO A DISTRIBUTION THAT COVERS A 20 YEAR "ANNUITY LIKE" DISTRIBUTION. IN MARCH 2012, A NEW SERP II WAS CREATED THAT WILL GENERALLY PROVIDE EXECUTIVES A GROSS ANNUAL DEFINED CONTRIBUTION BENEFIT OF 10% OF THE EXECUTIVE'S BASE PAY.
