Mission
Goodwill of the Olympics and Rainier Region is committed to dismantling racism and advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion so that we can help people reach their fullest potential through education, job placement, and career pathway services. We do our work with great gratitude for the community donations, purchases, and partnerships that make our mission possible.
-
Retail, Salvage, Donations and Production Training Centers - Employed 1,201 people. Goodwill operated 34 thrift stores in 9 Washington counties. Over 3.64 million shoppers continued to embrace Goodwill's wide selection and value pricing. By growing retail operations, Goodwill creates more jobs and funds more job training, responding to the increasing need in the communities we serve. Goodwill retail stores provide jobs and training opportunities in addition to generating funds for job training programs. From collection points at stores and Attended Donation Stations, goods need to be sorted, priced, and displayed. Work training opportunities abound in our training centers allowing ample opportunity for people with significant disabilities or disadvantages to move into the work force. Strict quality standards guide the selection of items not suitable for sale in the retail stores. Goodwill strives to recycle donated items not suitable for sale in the retail stores. Donations are the foundation of Goodwill's ability to provide services. Thoughtful giving supports strong retail sales which in turn helps people receive training and go to work.
Expenses $73,741,544 · Revenue $82,748,003
-
Workforce Development Training Centers - employed 161 people. Over ninety percent of revenues are returned to jobs and job training programs for individuals facing a range of barriers, such as generational poverty, housing instability, disabilities, involvement with the justice system, outdated skills, and a lack of education. Our workforce development programs are designed to meet people where they arethrough wraparound services, one-on-one support, in-person instruction, and anytime, anywhere virtual access. Goodwill delivered job training, education, and career pathway services to 3,152 unduplicated individuals across our 15-county region and had 80 GED graduates in the Longview and Tacoma areas. Programs range from digital training skills, environmental green tech job training, career readiness and development, work experience paid internships and career exploration, state licensed vocational school for basic skills and industry recognized credentials, financial counseling, and community support programs designed to support senior citizens, veterans, justice involved youth, and people with developmental disabilities. Job placement of 254 individuals within the community support program included people with developmental disabilities as well as people entering the workforce with other barriers such as welfare history and lack of work skills or behavior. Youth at Risk provided GED training and Youth Recovery Corps. GORR had 106 employed outside of a program work experience. Senior mature workers provided training in office and other skills. Veterans' services and training are provided to those who have served. Goodwills vocational and employment services brings together a unique blend of immediate support and income for highly vulnerable households combined with relevant career resources and long term engagement that can move people out of poverty and onto a self-sufficient pathway.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us.
