Mission and programs · 2022
Mission
TO ELIMINATE PREVENTABLE COLON CANCER DEATH AND SUFFERING BY INCREASING SCREENING RATES THROUGH EDUCATION, ADVOCACY, HEALTH SYSTEMS IMPROVEMENT AND SURVIVOR SUPPORT.
-
DIGITAL MARKETING CAMPAIGN MISSION: PROVIDE EDUCATION ABOUT COLON CANCER, THE SECOND DEADLIEST CANCER AMONG MEN AND WOMEN, ACROSS KENTUCKY AND SOUTHERN INDIANA. WE LAUNCHED A DIGITAL OUTREACH CAMPAIGN TO PROMOTE ROUTINE CANCER SCREENINGS FOR YOUNGER INDIVIDUALS RESIDING IN LOUISVILLE AND SOUTHERN INDIANA. THE CAMPAIGN RAN FOR 3-6 MONTHS (DEPENDING ON LOCATION) AND UTILIZED TARGETED EMAIL MARKETING, STREAMING OTT VIDEO ADS, AND ONLINE PRE-ROLL VIDEO ADS. THE CAMPAIGN FOCUSED ON THE AFRICAN AMERICAN AND HISPANIC POPULATION. THE RESULTS WERE THAT 2.3 MILLION DIGITAL ADS WERE DELIVERED. AD CLICK THROUGH RATE EXCEEDED NATIONAL BENCHMARKS (RANGING 10%-110% HIGHER). ADS THAT SHOWED ACTUAL PEOPLE OR FAMILIES PERFORMED BETTER THAN ANIMATED ADS. MESSAGING RELATED TO SCREENINGS DID IN FACT RESONATE WITH YOUNGER DEMOGRAPHICS (30-50) WITHIN BOTH POPULATIONS. DURING THE 3-6-MONTH WINDOW OUR WEBSITE RECEIVED 200% MORE TRAFFIC. TOTAL SPENT ON THIS PROGRAM WAS 40,102.38.
Expenses $173,345

Expenses $12,388
-
SURVIVOR SUPPORT GROUP MISSION: PROVIDE SURVIVOR SUPPORT, INCLUDING GRANTS TO PATIENTS BATTLING COLON CANCER. OUR LOCAL SURVIVOR SUPPORT GROUP MEETS ONCE PER MONTH AND GAINED UP TO 16 MEMBERS. WE ALSO DID A SPECIAL EVENT AT CHURCHILL DOWNS AND INVITED PATIENTS AT SHAWNEE HEALTH THAT WEREN'T USUALLY ABLE TO ATTEND MEETINGS. OUR SUPPORT GROUP FACILITATOR HAS CREATED AN ENVIRONMENT OF SHARING THAT SUPPORTS MENTAL HEALTH THAT CANCER PATIENTS SO DESPERATELY NEED. 900 DOLLARS WAS SPENT ON THIS PROGRAM, AND MANY VOLUNTEER HOURS WERE GIVEN BY THE BOARD AND STAFF.
As filed on the 2022 return. The filer continues this part on Schedule O, which is not shown here. A text marked withheld matched a screen for wording that may name a private individual, such as an honorific or "in memory of". Most of what it withholds names no one; it is withheld so that what does is never shown.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
