Mission
TO PROVIDE A FORUM FOR BLACK SURGEONS IN THE FIELD OF ACADEMICS, TO SHARE IDEAS, RESEARCH, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCES FOR THE BENEFIT OF OTHER MEMBERS AND OTHERS AFFILIATED WITH THE TEACHING OF SURGURY AND MEDICINE. CURRENTLY THERE ARE APPROXIMATELY 273 INDIVIDUAL MEMBERS AND 69 INSTITUTIONAL MEMBERS.
Activities or mission (Part I)
TO INCREASE AND ELEVATE THE LEVEL OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH BY BLACK SURGEONS WHO ARE ALSO IN THE FIELD OF ACADEMICS. TO IMPROVE HEALTH, ADVANCE SCIENCE, AND FOSTER CAREERS OF AFRICAN AMERICAN AND OTHER UNDERREPRESENTED MINORITY SURGEONS.

ANNUAL MEETING-ANNUAL MEETING ALLOWS SURGEONS IN THE FIELD OF ACADEMICS TO SHARE WITH THEIR PEERS, SCIENTIFIC DATA AND TECHNIQUES THEY HAVE RESEARCHED AND DEVELOPED. IT ALSO ALLOWS INSTITUTIONS AND COMMERCIAL COMPANIES THE OPORTUNITY TO SHARE THEIR LATEST PROGRAMS AND PRODUCTS WITH ACADEMIC SURGEONS. TOTAL ATTENDEES AT 2022 MEETING WAS APPROXIMATELY 364.
