Mission

HARRISBURG MEDICAL CENTER AND SOUTHERN ILLINOIS HEALTHCARE IS DEDICATED TO IMPROVING THE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF ALL THE PEOPLE IN THE COMMUNITIES WE SERVE.

Activities or mission (Part I)

WE ARE DEDICATED TO IMPROVING THE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF ALL THE PEOPLE IN THE COMMUNITIES WE SERVE.

  • IN SUPPORT OF ITS MISSION, THE HOSPITAL PROVIDES CARE TO PATIENTS AT LESS THAN ITS ESTABLISHED CHARGES FOR PATIENTS THAT MEET THE HOSPITAL'S FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE CRITERIA. BECAUSE THE HOSPITAL DOES NOT PURSUE COLLECTION OF AMOUNTS DETERMINED TO QUALIFY FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, THEY ARE NOT REPORTED IN NET PATIENT SERVICE REVENUE. CHARGES EXCLUDED FROM REVENUE UNDER THE HOSPITAL'S FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE POLICY (FAP) WERE APPROXIMATELY $1,909,000 FOR FISCAL YEAR 2025. IN ADDITION, THE HOSPITAL PROVIDES SERVICES TO OTHER MEDICALLY INDIGENT PATIENTS UNDER CERTAIN GOVERNMENT-REIMBURSED PUBLIC AID PROGRAMS. SUCH PROGRAMS PAY PROVIDERS AMOUNTS WHICH ARE LESS THAN ESTABLISHED CHARGES FOR THE SERVICES PROVIDED TO THE RECIPIENTS AND THE PAYMENTS ARE LESS THAN THE COST OF RENDERING CARE. (continued on schedule O)

    Expenses $41,382,881 · Revenue $54,802,682

  • HARRISBURG MEDICAL CENTER OPERATES PHYSICIAN PRACTICES TO PROVIDE CARE AND TREATMENT OF THE MEDICALLY SICK, INJURED OR afflicted ON A NOT-FOR PROFIT BASIS. Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us.
