Mission and programs · 2022
Primary exempt purpose
Our purpose is to feed, care and educate the homeless.
-
We specialize in feeding and caring for the homeless in the city of Long Beach, California. We also offer a pet center in an area of the backyard that has been transformed into a beautiful oasis. The homeless guests are able to bath their pets in a wash basin, and groom them. We offer pet collars, leashes and even dog sweaters! Volunteers are available to watch the pets while our guests are inside enjoying a meal.In 2022, our organization has evolved back into "Monday Matters" at the request of the city. This means that on Monday's we serve coffee, donuts, and prepackaged food at a local park. While we do not have a physical space, we offer support, resources, and help people in any way possible in order for them to succeed. We have paid for over 140 Motel stays for moms and families who were living on the streets or in their cars. We have furnished 4 apartments for newly housed individuals. We filled up 6 gas tanks, served over 1,000 light meals, purchased 20 prescriptions, 5 bus passes, and 60 jackets. We help with a multitude of needs from paying phone bills, purchasing phones, repairing bikes, and even paid for a cremation/memorial service for one of our homeless volunteers.
