Mission and programs · 2024

Mission

Our mission is to shape the future of finance by developing leaders whose innovation, investment excellence, and human-centered leadership advance the industry and its adjacent sectors.

Activities or mission (Part I)

DEVELOPING INNOVATIVE, HUMAN-CENTERED LEADERS TO DRIVE EXCELLENCE IN FINANCE.

  • As part of its 35th Anniversary milestone, the Toigo Foundation proudly welcomed a new cohort of young professionals into its Milestone Class, selected from an applicant pool of 253 finalists. These future leaders represent a broad spectrum of finance-focused graduate students committed to careers in investment, advisory, and asset management. In alignment with our strategic goals and continued innovation in candidate engagement, the Foundation invested $[$11,731] in the development and implementation of a new applicant platform and customer relationship management (CRM) system. These tools were designed to capture applicant and student data, foster a sense of community, and provide employers with direct access to talent through job postings and curated career-focused events. The system also features integrated video content, targeted candidate assessments-particularly around coachability-and robust applicant reporting dashboards. The Foundation launched the "Catapult" program as the first-tier industry education event, hosted virtually over 2.5 days to accommodate the financial and time constraints of today's graduate student population. Delivered via a high-functioning virtual event platform, the program included general sessions, skill-building breakout groups, chat forums, and structured networking spaces-creating a rich, accessible learning experience. From this broader group, [60] students were selected as our final Toigo Legacy Fellows and invited to attend an in-person onboarding event held in New York. This immersive experience provided deeper program orientation, exposure to senior industry executives, and a realistic preview of graduate school expectations in the context of their Fellow responsibilities. The Fellows were also recognized during Toigo's annual industry dinner, further elevating their visibility and affirming their accomplishments. To support students' career preparedness, the Foundation engaged a team of subject matter experts who delivered individual and group sessions focused on self-assessment, navigating a competitive job market, and managing priorities during graduate studies. In addition, our signature APEx (Advancing Professional Experience) leadership development events continued to serve as critical in-person programming, welcoming 150 students for two days of master classes centered on executive presence, communication, and strategic thinking. Participants also took part in coaching engagements and technical workshops tailored to current market demands. Toigo's Learning Intensive in Alternatives was expanded in 2024. The program now includes three sector - focused tracks that offer deep dives into specific investment strategies. Students participated in team-based investment presentations, national case competitions, and coursework aligned with preparation for industry-recognized certifications. The Foundation's financial investment in curriculum design, contractor-led instruction, and asset-class specialization enabled the creation of a scalable, high-value program. Finally, through the Foundation's proprietary Talent Management Portal, members of the Class of 2025 and Class of 2026 gained immediate access to internship and full-time job opportunities from leading financial services firms. This portal serves as an essential bridge between education and employment, underscoring our commitment to creating pathways to leadership in the investment profession.

  • The Foundation's success in identifying and developing next generation leaders for careers in Finance was celebrated in several ways in 2024. The impressive group of past participants - referred to as alumni exemplify the success of Toigo's work and their own leadership impact with Finance. The Foundation retained a noted journalist to interview 30 alumni to present their viewpoints on investment markets, areas of their expertise and amplification of Toigo. These were produced and posted on social media. Additionally, 35 individuals were showcased for their excellence in their careers, their stewardship of the non-profit and their bright futures ahead. Two successful convening events were hosted in 2024 drawing in the investment community in celebration of the non-profits 35 years of service and impact. Details which surround two celebrations hosting a total of 1,600 professionals was a testament to the deep relationships established and the marker of excellence. The dinner program featured prominent authors and industry notables; followed by a gathering of past participants and guests. Each dinner event was preceded by an industry gathering of approximately a total of 250 guests to discuss critical topics which impacted the mission of the Foundation and its talent. Representatives from the plan sponsor and asset management community; past Toigo participants; board members and investment community.

  • In 2024, the Toigo Foundation enhanced its career advancement and corporate engagement services through a strategic platform branded as ToigoPRO (Professional Recruiting Opportunity). This initiative was designed to heighten visibility and access to employment opportunities for Toigo's highly talented candidate base while supporting corporate partners in identifying and engaging top-tier, talent for positions across financial services. Key investments were made in the redesign and enhancement of the talent website, creating a more accessible and user-centric portal for both job seekers and employers. The platform now supports streamlined application processes, increased visibility of job postings, and a dynamic presentation of candidate profiles for networking and interview consideration. These updates helped bridge critical connections between Toigo talent and leading firms seeking high-caliber professionals. To further amplify these efforts, the Foundation dedicated financial and operational resources to expand employer sponsorship tools, increase social media promotion, and host both virtual and in-person recruiting events. These activities included employer-led webinars that highlighted firm culture, investment strategies, and hiring needs. For MBA students participating in Toigo's programs, the Foundation launched an online talent portfolio platform that enables students to showcase their skills, career aspirations, and availability to apply for internships and full-time roles. This platform, combined with curated job listings and exclusive employer webinars, provided students with structured opportunities to engage with potential employers early and meaningfully. Additionally, a series of Talent Management workshops and educational podcasts were introduced, equipping participants with practical tools to navigate the competitive employment market. Topics included resume development, networking strategies, and compensation negotiation-all tailored to support the advancement and long-term success of Toigo alumni and current program participants. Through these multi-pronged efforts, the Toigo Foundation deepened its role as a trusted talent development partner within the financial industry, reinforcing its mission to support future leaders and expand career pathways.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us.
