Mission

To bring a message of hope and healing to Kansas secondary students by using the power of storytelling.

Activities or mission (Part I)

To change the way we talk about, support, treat, and heal those with mental health struggles.

  • Based out of Topeka, Kansas, The Jones Projecte provides free motivational keynote presentations primarily to Kansas secondary students. We give actionable steps to students who are struggling while emphasizing the importanct of specific mental health interventions already in place at their schools. Coach Damon Parker, the keynote speaker and executive director of The Jones Project, spent 21 years as a teacher, coach and professional speaker in Kansas and Missouri. He gives 60-minute presentations that are not only directed at students who are in crisis; they also are for those in the audience who don't have firsthand experience with mental health illnesses. Audiences are taugh not only to have empathy for their peers with mental health struggles, but "three critical steps" that will help everyone, regarless of where they are in their own mental health journey. Druing the year presentations were given to XXX schools. In addition, XXX presentations were given to businesses and other organizations.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
