Mission
Jews For Racial & Economic Justice is a 6,000-member grassroots organization and the home of New Yorks Jewish Left. For over 30 years, JFREJ members have organized alongside our neighbors to transform New York from a playground for the wealthy few into a real democracy, free from all forms of racist violence.
Activities or mission (Part I)
Jews For Racial & Economic Justice Action (JFREJ Action or JFREJ) is the home for Jewish New Yorkers organizing with our neighbors and allies to transform New York from a playground for the wealthy few into a real democracy for all of us. JFREJ members are working to make the city we love a more caring place, free from all forms of racist violence, where everyone has the opportunity and resources they need to thrive. We work toward our mission through community organizing around issues central to racial and economic justice, public education, legislative advocacy, and limited electoral work.
-
The New York Caring Majority is a movement of older adults, disabled people, family caregivers, domestic workers, and home care providers from all across New York State working toward dignified wages for homecare workers and for universal healthcare for all.
Expenses $598,163
-
NYC Against Hate: Freedom to thrive is our campaign working toward investment in the things that keep New Yorkers truly safe. We do this through public education, canvassing our neighbors, and advocacy. We also lead the coalition, NYC Against Hate which is a diverse group of community-based organizations working across identities to prevent and address hate violence in New York.
Expenses $199,387
-
The Jewish Vote is a home for New York Jews seeking to secure a pluralistic city that works for all of us through the power of the Jewish vote. We are intellectuals, day school kids, bubbes, queers, geeks, resistance moms, carpenters, bartenders, lawyers, nurses, farmers deeply rooted cosmopolitans and proud members of the diaspora. We are Black and Brown, Latino/a/x and Asian, Mizrahi, Ashkenazi and Sephardi, immigrant and US-born.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
