Activities or mission (Part I)

To inspire and promote an increased tree canopy in the Valley.

  • Our Utility Shade Tree Program provides shade tree education and distribution for local utility companies. Salt River Project (SRP) and Arizona Public Service (APS), in Arizona. Working with SRP and APS, we help implement a valley wide program that teaches thousands of residents how to plant trees strategically to reduce their air conditioning use while adding trees to the landscape. Residents are provided education on tree placement, planting, maintenance and are given five gallon trees to take home and plant. This year with SRP we distributed approximately thousands of trees and educated thousands of residents. We have only started designing and planning for the APS program and will have implementation and education ready for fiscal year 2024.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
