-
ACCESS - MALI RISING CREATES ACCESS BY BUILDING SAFE, DURABLE MIDDLE SCHOOLS IN UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES WHERE STUDENTS HAVE NO VIABLE PATH BEYOND PRIMARY SCHOOL. MALI RISING WORKS WITH MALI'S CENTRES FOR PEDAGOGICAL ACTIVITIES (CENTRES D'ANIMATION PEDAGOGIQUE, OR CAP) AND WITH LOCAL VILLAGES TO MAINTAIN EACH SCHOOL AND ENSURE LONG-TERM IMPACT. EACH SCHOOL INCLUDES THREE CLASSROOMS, LATRINES, A PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE, AND ESSENTIAL FURNISHINGS. CONSTRUCTION IS LED BY LOCAL MALIANS, CREATING JOBS AND FOSTERING COMMUNITY PRIDE. THE ACCESS PROGRAM ALSO INCLUDES SCHOOL FEE SUPPORT AND SCHOLARSHIPS FOR MANY OF OUR STUDENTS. THIS PROGRAM HELPS STUDENTS TO CONTINUE THEIR EDUCATION THROUGH THE INSPIRATION SCHOLARSHIPS, AS WELL AS SCHOOL FEE SUPPORT FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS. EACH SCHOOL AND SCHOLARSHIP HELPS ENSURE THAT DISTANCE AND COST NO LONGER STAND IN THE WAY OF EDUCATION.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
