Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us.

PART I, LINE 1A
DANIEL KLINGEBIEL, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, RECEIVES A GROSS-UP PAYMENT FOR A FIXED TUITION BENEFIT, CALCULATED ANNUALLY PER THE PROVISIONS IN HIS EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT.
PART I, LINE 3
WHEN HIRING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AND OTHER KEY EMPLOYEES, AND THEREAFTER ON AN ANNUAL BASIS, OR OTHER PERIOD CONSISTENT WITH THE TERM OF THE EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT, THE BOARD WILL PERFORM A THOROUGH REVIEW TO DETERMINE SUITABLE COMPENSATION. THIS PROCESS IS TO INCLUDE A REVIEW OF COMPARABILITY DATA BY A COMPENSATION COMMITTEE ESTABLISHED BY THE BOARD OR THE CHAIR OF THE BOARD OR AN INDEPENDENT COMPENSATION CONSULTANT HIRED BY THE BOARD. COMPARABILITY DATA CAN INCLUDE COMPENSATION SURVEYS, WRITTEN EMPLOYMENT CONTRACTS AND FORMS 990 OF SIMILAR ORGANIZATIONS. THE BOARD WILL RETAIN DOCUMENTATION OF THE DELIBERATION AND FINAL DECISION.
PART I, LINE 7
DANIEL KLINGEBIEL, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, RECEIVES A NON-FIXED, PERFORMANCE-BASED BONUS PAYMENT. BONUSES ARE BASED ON ANNUAL GOALS SET BY THE PRESIDENT AND TREASURER OF NCIS. THERE IS A PREDETERMINED METHOD OF CALCULATION BASED ON DEFINED PERFORMANCE FACTORS. FACTORS ARE BASED ON INPUT FROM THE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF SAN FRANCISCO HEAD OF SCHOOL, THE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF SAN FRANCISCO CFO, AND THE BOARD.
