Mission and programs · 2022

Mission

To provide a space where all can come together to share, refine, and develop their creative talents as well as support entrepreneurship opportunities in the arts while connecting to the community.

Activities or mission (Part I)

To provide a space where all can come together to share refine and develop their creative talents as well as support entrepreneurship

  • During 2022 one of our largest projects was the second phase of the StepOut Project. This project focuses on connecting people and nature through the Arts. The second phase focused on the Power of the Sun and the Resilience of Native Plants. We commissioned four community based Artists to create murals representing the theme. We presented the project in community events to take recommendations on where the murals would be installed in the neighborhood.

    Expenses $37,000

  • Artecito Virtual is a bimonthly workshop presented via zoom. This project was created in collaboration with Lincoln Park Zoo and during 2022 we were able to present 26 workshops focusing on different animals and plants. Participants learn about a topic through a presentation and then get to create an art work reinforcing the topic of the day.

    Expenses $21,000

  • During the summer months we provided our ArtZone in three community events; Lawndale: Peace Party; Lawndale: Arts Fest; & Lawndale: Cook Out. The ArtZone's provided participants with 4-5 interactive Art workshops led by community based Artists. Participants were able to create at their own pace and encouraged to visit all stations.

    Expenses $15,000

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
