Mission and programs · 2024

Mission

To create equitable housing opportunities for our community while preserving our culture, promoting financial literacy, and protecting our environment.

  • THP held 2 Homebuyer Education Classes in 2024.The curriculum introduces topics related to the homebuying process, credit scores/debt, access to down payment assistance programs and mortgage options. Community Engagement Activities included a video Campaign "Why Housing Matters" that hosted 40 community leaders who participated in short, video-taped interviews that were shaped around 5 different questions pertaining to Housing. The finished videos were circulated throughout the community and shared among numerous media outlets. THP also introduced the Housing Advocacy Discussion Group (HADG) that was a direct result of community members asking for learning opportunities to explore housing topics. HADG is set up as a monthly drop-in group. Two Tenant Rights Workshops were hosted in partnership with New Mexico Legal Aid and a Community Learning Session titled "Housing Economics 101" was held as a test to see if a larger Speaker Series was a possible addition to community engagement strategies. THP was asked to facilitate the Housing Action Team (HAT) meeting that is a joint initiative that involves elected officials, community leaders and non-profit organizations working within the housing landscape. This is a monthly meeting focused on community partnership amongst stakeholders. Technical Support - THP provided technical support to both government entities and private builder/developers within a housing services framework. Topics included research/development related to housing/community data, Area Median Income (AMI) guidelines, available funding streams for specific development opportunities, and/or assisting with establishing relationships within the larger state/federal platform.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
