-
CIVIC ENGAGEMENT & EDUCATION/ADVOCACYCITIZENS PROJECT PROVIDES ELECTION EDUCATION RESOURCES FOR THE COMMUNITY. THE SIGNATURE VOTER GUIDE IS PUBLISHED IN THE COLORADO SPRINGS BUSINESS JOURNAL, COLORADO SPRINGS INDEPENDENT, IN OTHER COMMUNITY NEWSPAPERS, AND ONLINE. OTHER NONPARTISAN ELECTION EDUCATION PROGRAMS INCLUDE FORUMS FOR CANDIDATES AND TO DISCUSS BALLOT MEASURES. EACH ELECTION CITIZENS PROJECT ENGAGES UNDERREPRESENTED VOTERS THROUGH GET-OUT-THE-VOTE WORK. CITIZENS PROJECT RUNS ONGOING PROGRAMS TO EDUCATE THE COMMUNITY AND ADVOCATE OUR VALUES. WE WATCHDOG LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC SCHOOLS TO ENSURE THAT EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY ARE BEING UPHELD. PROGRAMMING IS RESPONSIVE TO CURRENT EVENTS AND SEEKS TO LOCALIZE ISSUES OF NATIONAL IMPORTANCE. ACTIVITIES RANGE FROM HOSTING COMMUNITY DISCUSSIONS TO LEGISLATIVE MONITORING BY URGING LOCAL ELECTED OFFICIALS TO UPHOLD LAWS THAT PROTECT EQUALITY. WE ALSO HOSTED OUR CREATING COMMUNITY BREAKFAST TO CELEBRATE THE VICTORIES WE HAVE HAD AS A COMMUNITY AND ORGANIZATION.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
