The Medora Musical is a seasonal historical and patriotic performing arts program and is the single largest program in support of the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation's primary exempt purpose. In 2024, the Medora Musical educated, informed, and entertained approximately 111,500 guests. To help serve and provide for the comfort of the traveling public, a variety of food service outlets are operated, most notably the Pitchfork Steak Fondue. Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us.

The filer's explanations (Part III)
- Part I, Line 1a
- Randy Hatzenbuhler, Joe Wiegand, Clarence Sitter, Nathan Huntington, Lyubomyr Shkandriy, Sheila Strommen, Kinley Slauter, Daniel Gannarelli, and Darwin Lindsey all reside in TRMF housing for all or part of the year in Medora. The fair market value of the housing is a taxable benefit being included in taxable income.
- Part I, Line 4a
- Nathan Huntington's employment was terminated 9/30/2024 as the position was no longer needed. A severance agreement was in place paying Nathan a gross lump-sum amount of $25,279.50 less deductions required by law.
- Part I, Line 5
- Individual incentive plans were in place for Executive team members Randy, Emily, Clarence, Lyubomyr, Nathan, Sheila, Kinley and Daniel. A portion of their plans are tied to the result of meeting the company's financial goals. Nathan did not receive an incentive for 2024 as he was not employed on 12/31/24, which is a condition of all TRMF incentive plans. Joe, Darwin, and Doug were eligible for the company-wide incentive plan which was also tied to meeting the company's financial goals. Incentives from 2023 that had been accrued were paid in 2024,and 2024 earned incentives were also paid out in 2024.
- Part II, Row 1:
- President & CEO Randy Hatzenbuhler had a deferred compensation plan put in place by the Board of Directors in 2006. Over the 18-year period of contributions plus earnings the value accumulated to $540,714 and was paid out in 2024 as a bonus under the provisions of the plan.
Part I's answers as filed. A line not listed was left unanswered; on lines 1a and 3 that means the box was not checked.
