CORE VALUES:WE LEAD WITH COMPASSION; WE ARE DEEPLY RESPECTFUL; WE ACT WITH INTEGRITY; WE ARE FIRMLY COMMITTED

Activities or mission (Part I)

WE PROVIDE ESSENTIAL SERVICES THAT REMOVE BARRIERS, STRENTHEN FAMILIES, AND PROMOTE HEALING WHEN CHILDREN NEED HEALTHCARE.

  • IN 2025, 1,346 FAMILIES FROM 23 STATES AND 12 COUNTRIES STAYED AT RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE JACKSONVILLE. OUR FAMILIES ENJOYED THE SERVICES OF PRIVATE AND SECURE ACCOMMODATIONS AND NUTRITIOUS MEALS PREPARED BY OUR IN -HOUSE CHEF AND SERVED BY OUR DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS. NEARLY 23,000 MEALS WERE SERVED AND THE FAMILIES HAD ACCESS TO A FULLY STOCKED PANTRY THAT PROVIDED THEM WITH DAILY SNACKS AND LUNCH TOTES TO BE CARRIED TO THEIR DAILY HOSPITAL VISITS. OUR HEALTH AND WELLNESS PROGRAM SUPPORTS THE DAILY HEALTH OF OUR FAMILIES THROUGH NUTRITIOUS MEALS WHICH IS DESIGNED TO REDUCE THE STRESS OUR FAMILIES FACE. OUR FAMILY STAYS ARE FURTHER SUPPORTED WITH A FITNESS CENTER, THEATRE ROOM, ROOFTOP GARDEN, A NONDENOMINATIONAL ROOM OF CONTEMPLATION, COFFEE BAR AREAS, PLAYROOMS, LAUNDRY ROOMS, AND A PLAYROOM AND LEARNING CENTER KNOWN AS THE KIDZONE LEARNING CENTER. OUR COMMUNITY OF COMPASSIONATE CARE IS ANCHORED BY OUR EXPERIENCED GUEST RELATIONS STAFF DEDICATED TO THE WELL-BEING OF OUR FAMILIES. THEY ARE ALSO SUPPORTED BY ALL STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS WHO STRIVE TO WELCOME EVERY FAMILY ENGAGING THEM ON A DAILY BASIS AND MAKING RONALD MCDONALD HOUSEC JACKSONVILLE THEIR COMFORTING AND TEMPORARY "HOME AWAY FROM HOME". THESE DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS MEET AND GREAT OUR FAMILIES WITH CARE AND COMPASSION. THEY CAN BE FOUND WORKING AT OUR FRONT DESKS, HOUSEWARMING IN OUR KITCHENS, VOLUNTEER COOKING, LANDSCAPING, DOING MAINTENANCE WORK, VOLUNTEERING FOR EVENTS, CRAFTS AND GAMES AND VOLUNTEERING DAILY IN OUR KIDZONE LEARNING CENTER. GROUPS OF VOLUNTEERS OFTEN CREATE EVENTS FOR OUR CHILDREN LIKE BIRTHDAY PARTIES AND CRAFT EVENTS, KARAOKE, SUPERHERO AND PRINCESS NIGHTS. A SEASONAL FAVORITE IS ALWAYS A VISIT FROM THE JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS WHO COOK BREAKFAST OR HOST A HOLIDAY EVENT. THE MCDONALD'S OWNER/OPERATORS ALSO VISIT SEVERAL TIMES A YEAR TO COOK UP EVERYONE'S FAVORITE MCDONALD'S BISCUITS, EGG, AND SAUSAGE SANDWICHES. MOST IMPORTANTLY, OUR VOLUNTEERS HELP TO MAKE OUR FAMILIES FEEL AT HOME AND LEND A COMPASSIONATE EAR DURING A VERY CHALLENGING TIME. OUR KIDZONE HAS BECOME A FAVORITE OF OUR CHILDREN AND PARENTS ALIKE. IT IS A JOYOUS PLACE OF LEARNING AND EXPLORATION CREATED, MANAGED AND STAFFED BY OUR STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS, MANY WHO HAVE SPENT THEIR CAREERS IN EDUCATION. EXCITING THEMES AND CURRICULUMS WITH CRAFTS AND LEARNING GREET THE CHILDREN EVERY DAY, WHERE THE CHILDREN CAN FORGET ABOUT THEIR ILLNESS AND ENJOY BEING A CHILD. GIANT LEGOS ABOUND AND CHILDREN'S ART IS MASTERFULLY DISPLAYED. TECHNOLOGY HAS BEEN BROUGHT INTO OUR KIDZONE THROUGH THE DEVELOPMENT OF PARTS OF A STEM CURRICULUM. IN 2025, RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE JACKSONVILLE LAUNCHED A RENOVATION PROJECT TO EXPAND THE KIDZONE. IT IS SET TO OPEN IN THE 2ND QUARTER OF 2026. THE NEWLY EXPANDED SPACE, ADVENTURE ALLEY, WILL SERVE BOTH YOUNG CHILDREN AND TEENAGERS, PROVIDING SEPARATE SPACES BUILT WITH INNOVATIVE, INTERACTIVE TECHNOLOGY TO FOSTER CREATIVITY, CONNECTION AND JOY. NOT ALL FAMILIES WITH A CHILD IN THE HOSPITAL CAN STAY WITH US, BUT THEY STILL NEED SUPPORT. LONG DAYS AT THE HOSPITAL ARE EXHAUSTING, AND THE COST OF MEALS ADDS UP FAST. TO FILL THIS GAP, RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE JACKSONVILLE PARTNERED WITH WOLFSON CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL IN 2025 TO LAUNCH THE MEALS THAT HEAL PROGRAM. THROUGH THIS PROGRAM, A WARM AND NUTRITIOUS DINNER IS PREPARED EVERY EVENING BY OUR ON-SITE CHEF, IS DELIVERED TO WOLFSON CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL AND IS SERVED BY OUR DEDICATED STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS OFFERING A SENSE OF COMFORT AND COMMUNITY.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us.
