Mission
GEOS INSTITUTE HELPS COMMUNITIES BUILD RESILIENCE IN THE FACE OF CLIMATE CHANGE USING SCIENCE AND LOCAL KNOWLEDGE. OUR HOLISTIC APPROACH PRIORITIZES THE NEEDS OF ECOSYSTEMS AND THOSE ON THE FRONTLINES OF CLIMATE CHANGE IMPACTS.
-
The Geos Institute's primary focus is developing Climate Ready America - a nationwide system of climate services to help communities address the causes and impacts of climate change regardless of their location, size, or wealth. Working across all fifty states and five US territories, this system will ensure that local governments can access the help they need to build climate resilience. Central to this work is the Geos Institute's Climate Ready Communities program - an "assisted do-it-yourself" planning program for small to mid-sized and under-resourced communities. The Geos Institute's ClimateWise team has helped communities plan for climate change across nine states starting in 2008. In that process, the Team developed the Whole Community Resilience planning framework, which serves as the foundation for the Climate Ready Communities program.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
