Mission

THE MISSION OF THE IM ABLE FOUNDATION IS SIMPLE. WE REMOVE OBSTACLES THAT KEEP PEOPLE WITH CHALLENGES ON THE SIDELINES, PROVIDING THEM ACCESS TO PROGRAMS AND EQUIPMENT TAILORED TO THEIR NEEDS AND A COMMUNITY OF ALL ABILITIES TO SUPPORT THEM.

Activities or mission (Part I)

TO REMOVE OBSTACLES THAT PREVENT PEOPLE AFFECTED BY DISABILITIES FROM BEING PHYSICALLY ACTIVE

  • THE IM ABLE FOUNDATION AWARDS ADAPTIVE EQUIPMENT GRANTS TO INDIVIDUALS AND SUPPORTING ORGANIZATIONS. HAND-CYCLES, ADAPTIVE SKIS, AND INSTRUCTIONAL TRAINING PROGRAMS UNLEASH THE POTENTIAL IN PHYSICALLY, COGNITIVELY, AND/OR BEHAVIORALLY CHALLENGED CHILDREN AND ADULTS TO BE MORE ACTIVE, ENJOY THE BENEFITS OF PHYSICAL FITNESS, AND SPEND MORE TIME IN THE GREAT OUTDOORS.

    Grants $20,048

  • Withheld by Nonprofiteer: this text may name a private individual.

    Expenses $153,069 · Revenue $7,019

  • IM ABLE'S OPERATION LEAD FROM THE FRONT IS A PROGRAM WHERE MILITARY VETERANS AND FIRST RESPONDERS UTILIZE THE TRAITS THEY LEARNED IN SERVICE (DISCIPLINE, MENTAL AGILITY, STRENGTH, AND INITIATIVE) TO MENTOR A CHILD WITH A PHYSICAL, COGNITIVE, AND/OR BEHAVIORAL DISABILITY IN A RELATIONSHIP CENTERED AROUND FITNESS. VETERANS WORK ALONGSIDE OTHER VETERANS RE-ESTABLISHING CONNECTIONS WITH THEIR PEERS WHILE SERVING CHILDREN WITH CHALLENGES. THEIR MENTORSHIP GOES BEYOND SIMPLY EXERCISING TO HELP YOUNG CHILDREN WITH OTHER CHALLENGES IN THEIR LIVES.

    Expenses $52,339

As filed on the 2022 return. A text marked withheld matched a screen for wording that may name a private individual, such as an honorific or "in memory of". Most of what it withholds names no one; it is withheld so that what does is never shown.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
