Mission
The Brookwood Community provides an educational environment that creates meaningful work, builds a sense of belonging, and awakens genuine purpose in the lives of adults with disabilities.
Activities or mission (Part I)
A God-centered community providing education for adults with special needs to acquire meaningful work skills; experience the pride that accompanies the ability to contribute to one's support and grow socially, emotionally, and spiritually.
-
The Brookwood Community is a residential and day program for adults with disabilities. Brookwood serves 120 "Citizens" (adults with disabilities) in our residential program and 135 in our day program. Our goal is to provide an environment that allows our Citizens to fulfill their God-given purpose for their lives. We provide citizen-centric spiritual, social, and vocational development opportunities. Our 485-acre Community consists of specially designed neuro-considerate homes, workshops, a worship center, a horticulture center, stores, and a cafe. See Schedule OWe continue to expand our citizen-centric opportunities by adding educational programs in all the workshops, including shipping, filing orders, pricing of products for sale, checking in deliveries, etc. Our Citizens are growing and adding value to our Community daily as they learn new skills and interact with the public in our retail stores and cafe, turning diners and shoppers into Brookwood Community supporters. Our Citizens are fully engaged in their work throughout the campus. Our Citizens are the hands of God as they help each other and help change the way our many visitors and shoppers view adults with disabilities. Our recreational programs, which include sports, fitness, fine arts, and ministry in service to others, along with their work, allow our Citizens to live lives of meaning and purpose.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us.
