Mission

THE SEATTLE COLLEGES FOUNDATION CATALYZES COMMUNITY SUPPORT TO ADVANCE THE MISSION, WORK AND IMPACT OF SEATTLE COLLEGES. WE ENGAGE OUR COMMUNITY TO TRANSFORM LIVES, PROMOTE EQUITY AND INCREASE ACCESS TO QUALITY, AFFORDABLE EDUCATION.

Activities or mission (Part I)

We catalyze community support to advance the mission, work and impact of Seattle colleges.

  • Student Scholarships: Seattle Colleges is an inclusive, open-access institution, and we recognize that significant gaps in educational attainment persist for first-generation students, students of color, and students facing economic challenges. Scholarships remove financial barriers to college enrollment, reduce student debt, and correlate with certificate/degree completion, career attainment, and a highly qualified work force. We granted 513 scholarships during the fiscal year.

    Expenses $2,821,503 · Grants $2,821,503

  • Academic Program Support: Seattle Colleges provides a comprehensive array of high quality associate's, bachelor's, and technical and professional degree programs. Program grants fortify proven student success initiatives, update academic program offerings, enhance professional development opportunities for faculty and staff, and modernize state-of-the-art facilities and technology.

    Expenses $3,448,760

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us.
