Primary exempt purpose
Sankofa Learning Center, an African-centered learning ecosystem , provides New Haven families with a place to re-imagine education, honor the voices and stories of Black people from the Diaspora, and provide a healing space of love and liberation.

At Sankofa Learning Center, we believe in providing a unique educational experience that honors African heritage while incorporating proven educational methodologies. We combine an African-centered approach with Montessori practices: The African-centered approach in education aims to instill values, traditions, and diverse ways of thinking in young people, helping to increase self-knowledge and awareness. Montessori practices are integrated into our curriculum as an educational tool
