NCRC PROVIDES LOW-INCOME MIDDLE TENNESSEANS WITH FREE AND SLIDING-SCALE MEDIATION SERVICES. MEDIATION IS A UNIQUELY EQUITABLE AND INCLUSIVE PROCESS IN THE JUSTICE SYSTEM, BECAUSE IT PRIORITIZES THE VOICES AND DECISION- MAKING POWER OF THE PARTICIPANTS, AND IT PRESERVES CONFIDENTIALITY. THESE REFERRAL PARTNERS UNDERSTAND THAT OUR CLIENTS TEND TO FARE POORLY IN COURT, BUT THAT THEY ARE ABLE TO EXERCISE AGENCY AND ACCOUNTABILITY THROUGH MEDIATION. COURTS ALSO APPRECIATE THAT WE REMOVE CASES FROM OVERCROWDED DOCKETS AND INSTEAD PROVIDE CONFIDENTIAL SERVICES THAT ALLOW CLIENTS TO SETTLE ISSUES WITHOUT SEEING A JUDGE. CASE TYPES INCLUDING LANDLORD-TENANT, DEBTOR-CREDITOR, WORKPLACE, NEIGHBOR, CUSTODY/VISITATION, YOUTH ALTERCATION, AND DOMESTIC DISPUTES. NCRC'S SERVICES ARE DELIVERED EITHER IN-PERSON OR VIA REMOTE CONFERENCING, WHICH ENSURES THAT NO ONE IS EXCLUDED BECAUSE OF TECHNOLOGICAL, PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL, OR GEOGRAPHIC BARRIERS. Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
