Mission and programs · 2025
Mission
To help Black children striving to achieve their fullest potential by disrupting systems that disproportionately places them at risk of not achieving their dreams.
-
The BLAQUE Promise Project continued its mission in 2025 to provide culturally affirming educational enrichment, literacy development, and leadership opportunities for children and families in Kansas City. Through its Freedom Schools programming and community-centered initiatives, the organization created safe, engaging, and academically enriching environments to strengthen literacy, build student confidence, deepen cultural identity, and combat learning loss disproportionately impacting historically underserved students. The organization also advanced planning efforts to redesign and expand future programming opportunities, including enhanced electives, field experiences, and middle school engagement strategies to better meet the evolving needs of returning scholars and families.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
