Primary exempt purpose
Monterey Waterkeeper protects and restores fishable swimmable and drinkable waters within the Monterey Region and along California's Central Coast for all to enjoy.

Water Quality Protection. Monterey works to prevent and reduce pollution in freshwater and marine waters through legal and policy advocacy. This work protects water quality in the northern Central Coast region for hundreds of thousands of people and the region's ecosystems.

Central Coast for All Water Leaders. We ensure all families have access to the unique freshwater coastal and marine resources of the northern Central Coast region by facilitating outdoor education activities. Since launching this program in October 2022 we have worked with 60 youth the majority of whom are from underserved communities.
