Mission
CHILD BRIDGE FINDS AND EQUIPS FAMILIES FOR CHILDREN WHO HAVE SUFFERED ABUSE AND NEGLECT. ADDITIONALLY, OUR WORK SUPPORTS FOSTER, ADOPTIVE, AND KINSHIP FAMILIES WHO ARE CARING FOR VULNERABLE CHILDREN.
Activities or mission (Part I)
CHILD BRIDGE FINDS AND EQUIPS FAMILIES TO CARE FOR CHILDREN WHO HAVE SUFFERED ABUSE AND NEGLECT.
-
FINDING FAMILIES. AS OF DECEMBER 2025, THERE WERE MORE THAN 1,500 CHILDREN IN MONTANA'S CHILD WELFARE SYSTEM AND NOT ENOUGH FAMILIES TO CARE FOR THEM. CHILD BRIDGE RECRUITS FAMILIES FROM LOCAL FAITH COMMUNITIES TO CARE FOR THESE CHILDREN, WHETHER THEIR NEED IS TEMPORARY (FOSTER OR KINSHIP CARE) OR PERMANENT (ADOPTION). CHILD BRIDGE IS NOT A LICENSING OR PLACEMENT AGENCY. HOWEVER, IN 2025, CHILD BRIDGE INTRODUCED 77 FAMILIES TO THE STATE OF MONTANA, OR ANOTHER APPROVED ENTITY, FOR THOSE FAMILIES TO BEGIN THE FOSTER LICENSING PROCESS. (108% INCREASE OVER 2024 REFERRALS) WE ARE WORKING TOWARDS THE DAY WHEN THERE ARE FAMILIES WAITING FOR CHILDREN, NOT CHILDREN WAITING FOR FAMILIES.

EQUIPPING FOSTER/KINSHIP/ADOPTIVE FAMILIES. IN SIMPLEST TERMS, "EQUIPPING" MEANS THAT WE EDUCATE CAREGIVERS, WE COACH PARENTS, WE SUPPORT FAMILIES, AND WE CONNECT PEOPLE TO RESOURCES THAT HELP THEM THRIVE AS A FOSTER FAMILY. BECAUSE WHEN FAMILIES THRIVE, CHILDREN IN THEIR CARE CAN THRIVE AS WELL. CHILD BRIDGE HAS A TEAM OF PARENT COACHES WHO SERVE FAMILIES IN ALL 56 OF MONTANA'S COUNTIES. IN 2025, CHILD BRIDGE OFFERED MONTHLY EDUCATION/TRAINING PROGRAMS, SMALL GROUP BOOK STUDIES, CONFERENCES, 1:1 PARENT COACHING, AND MORE. IN 2025, THERE WERE 2,206 INSTANCES OF ADULT CAREGIVERS ENGAGING IN IN-PERSON SERVICES. (25% INCREASE OVER 2024). NATIVE FAMILY SERVICES. IN 2025, CHILD BRIDGE LAUNCHED A NEW INITIATIVE TO ADDRESS THE VAST OVERREPRESENTATION OF NATIVE CHILDREN IN FOSTER CARE. THIS PROGRAM WILL SUPPORT NON-NATIVE FOSTER FAMILIES WHO CARE FOR NATIVE CHILDREN AND NATIVE FAMILIES WHO PROVIDE FOSTER OR KINSHIP CARE TO NATIVE CHILDREN. 2025 FOCUSED ON COMMUNITY BUILDING WITH TRIBES, LISTENING SESSIONS, SMALL GROUP CONSULTATIONS AND ONE-ON-ONE MEETINGS WITH FOSTER CAREGIVERS; KINSHIP PROVIDERS; TRIBE MEMBERS AND ELDERS; NATIVE ADVOCATES; STATE CHILD WELFARE WORKERS; AND MORE. A PILOT LAUNCH IS PLANNED FOR EARLY 2026 IN THE BILLINGS-YELLOWSTONE COUNTY AREA AND ON THE CROW AND NORTHERN CHEYENNE RESERVATIONS.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us.
