Mission and programs · 2025
Mission
At Room One, we recognize and use the power of community to create connection and work toward positive change.
-
Direct Services: Room Ones direct services are our main conduit for identifying unmet needs in our community and directly informs our initiatives and programmatic strategies. These services support the whole person and their needs across their lifespan. Advocates offer connection to and support with numerous core social and health services to ensure our neighbors have greater stability and access to the resources they need most. This includes but is not limited to: access to DSHS programs, health insurance, safety planning and resources for people experiencing domestic violence or suicide ideation, low-income housing information and applications, access to mental health supports, connection to resources for immigrant specific support, language access and more. This program also includes the following community support groups: a violence prevention group for women, a group for immigrant women, and a peer support group for substance use. cont. Lastly, the direct services program has cash assistance for families and individuals.
Expenses $525,414
-
Prevention Programming: Room Ones prevention programming addresses three major public health issues that disproportionately impact rural youth in Okanogan County: unintended teen pregnancy, inadequate access to reproductive healthcare and accurate information and dating violence. To address these issues, we partner with schools and community organizations across Okanogan County, reaching not only young people but also the teachers, guardians and trusted adults who support them. Our youth-centered approach emphasizes building leadership skills, expanding access to comprehensive sexual health information and teaching about healthy relationships. We also work to ensure that young people are connected to safe, supportive adults and have opportunities to engage in youth-focused groups, classroom-based learning, provider trainings, and community workshops.
Expenses $93,466
-
Advocacy: The Room One Advocacy Program builds long-term systems change by centering rural & underrepresented community voices. We do this by elevating stories of those most impacted, working within coalitions for change through awareness campaigns, building relationships with community leaders, advocating for policy change, tracking and analyzing legislative actions, and more. We engage in a broad spectrum of issues affecting the community like mental health and wellbeing, substance use, gender-based violence, crisis intervention work, and homelessness.
Expenses $43,692
-
Fiscal Sponsorship: Room One agrees to fiscal sponsorships when there is mission alignment between Room One and the entity that is asking to operate under Room Ones tax exempt status. Other factors that Room One considers when approached about fiscal sponsorship include what administrative needs the entity requires and if Room One has the capacity to fill those administrative needs.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those. A Schedule J breakdown is as filed: base pay, bonus, other, deferred compensation and nontaxable benefits from this organization, with any from related organizations beside each, and the filer's own total. It is shown with the Part VII listing of the same name on the same return. The form gives no key between the two, so that pairing is ours, and is marked matched by us.
