AS TAX POLICY IS AN INTEGRAL PART OF GOVERNMENT BECAUSE THEY NOT ONLY INFLUENCE BEHAVIOR, THEY FUND THE GOVERNMENT ITSELF. AND JUST AS THE 21ST CENTURY HAS POSED THE CHALLENGES IN OTHER AREAS OF GOVERNMENT, STATES ARE NOW GRAPPLING WITH HOW TO ADAPT THEIR TAX SYSTEMS IN THE EVER CONNECTED NATIONAL AND GLOBAL ECONOMIES. WHILE MUCH DEBATE REMAINS ON WHAT TO TAX AND HOW TO TAX IT, POLICYMAKERS AGREE THAT OUR TAX SYSTEMS SHOULD NOT SERVE AS AN IMPEDIMENT TO ECONOMIC GROWTH AND THE REMITTANCE AND COLLECTION OF TAXES SHOULD BE SEAMLESS FOR TAXPAYERS. Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
