Mission

To create a vibrant future for agriculture, farm families their communities.

  • Public Policy Palo Alto County Farm Bureau Board of Directors met with the Palo Alto County Supervisors and Auditor to review the proposed budget and to lobby for additional funding for county rural roads/bridges. The county Board of Directors also lobbied our state legislators several times throughout the year via teleconference and at a Town Hall Legislative Forum on issues that impact rural Iowa and Agriculture. Board members engaged in public policy lobby activities on behalf of the membership. The Palo Alto County Farm Bureau also sent out a county-wide survey seeking their input on key agricultural issues at the local, state and national level. All Farmer members were sent the survey over email. The survey was used to develop policy statements. The Palo Alto County Farm Bureau also invited 600 members to attend the Palo Alto County Annual Meeting in August with a meal served at the VFW Hall in Emmetsburg. The members were then given the opportunity to elect the board of directors and review the audited financial reports.

As filed on the 2023 return. The filer continues this part on Schedule O, which is not shown here.

Compensation is as filed in Part VII: reportable pay from this organization and from related organizations, other compensation, and hours per week. The total, marked calculated, is our sum of the three dollar columns, with a blank column counted as $0; the form itself has no total. On a Form 990-EZ the columns are Part IV's instead, and on a Form 990-PF Part VIII's — compensation, contributions to benefit plans, and expense account — and the total sums those.
